Atletico Madrid has officially announced its contract with Italian striker Giacomo Raspadori, coming from Napoli, after both parties reached a final agreement regarding his transfer.
The player underwent medical examinations at the Advanced Sports Medicine Center at the Madrid University Hospital "Arturo Soria" before heading to the club's offices at the "Wanda Metropolitano" Stadium to sign a contract that extends for five years.
Raspadori (born in Bentivoglio, February 18, 2000) is a versatile attacking player, capable of occupying all positions in the front line, in addition to playing behind the strikers. He began his career in the youth categories of Sassuolo in 2009 and made his first-team debut on May 26, 2019, against Atalanta.
During his time with Sassuolo, he played 82 matches, scoring 18 goals and providing 9 assists. In the summer of 2022, he moved to Napoli, where he won the Italian league title twice consecutively, playing 109 matches, scoring 18 goals, and providing 10 assists.
Raspadori has an impressive international career with the Italian national team, having played his first international match on June 4, 2021, at the age of 21, as part of the preparations for the Euro 2020 tournament, which he won with his country. So far, he has played 40 international matches, scoring 9 goals and providing 6 assists.
The deal cost Atletico Madrid's coffers 26 million euros.
